From my knowledge does not exist any translation project. I tried to contact Daviex but he never answered me on Skype, plus on the official topic he was defined the "Schettino" of translation projects.. so i think someone need to make this italian translation.Secretmonster a écrit:Isn't Daviex already on an italian translation project ?

Feel free to check the topic "topic aide rom hacking" too.

I'm trying to find a intrested community but it is really not easy, all I found was an half dead Italian Phoenix Wright forum.. so yes thats correct by now.Mellma a écrit:You are lonely to work on this project ? :)
Thanks for the support you're giving me, for what I'm hearing it is quite impossible to do it all alone, but I want to understand first if i'm able to do all the "hacker stuff", so I'm downloading the tools right now.

Nothing is impossible, even alone, but the amount of work is absolutely huge, even when working as a team, and alone it should be nearly impossible, and very discouraging.
But if you are stubborn, patient, and take the time needed to complete it, and don't let yourself feel down and give up when it gets tough, you certainly can complete it.
...plus along the way, you'll get in touch with others willing to help, probably.

But if you don't know Arm assembly you can say goodbye to translating the game.
All the sprites you want to edit need their OAM Attributes to be traced back directly in asm code.
This game has no file system. All datas are RAW binaries.
That's the reason why Daviex gave up upon this project...

But then, what about DrCosmo?
...and with a little help of Whivel for this part, if all the rest is done?...
I wish you good luck, for all Italian fans of the AA franchise.

Well guys the biggest problem is that I never hacked a ROM before, and I'm more keen into the translation part.
I'd love if you guys could provide me a workflow, like: you have to take this, use that program, save it like that and repeat x1.000.000 times
I think if I have to work out how the tools work all alone I will fail right at the start unfortunately.. my question is if one can do this work mechanically or if there are more skills involved, I really want to know everything you can tell me because my knowledge in this area is like zero.

As Hacko said, you'll need programming skills for the finalization and making a working rom (repointing stuff etc.)
Other than that, extracting stuff and changin it (text and images) can be done without much skills at all, just knowing how to basically use a computer, imho)
Hopefully, by the time you'll get to the 'inserting and making the game' part, you'll have support from some hacker(s) so that you're able to finalize it all and have a playable game.

Maybe you can use our tool for AAI.
If you want more information for how to use them you can ask here. ^^

Well yes we do (and did)saibansaiban a écrit:So no one want to say some words about the workflow for me..?
Hacko gave you all the programs, so basically, what you have to do with them is:
1) unpack the rom
2) get the '.bin' files (overlays and others) and arm9 from what you unpack
Different programs are used to unpack, repack, and to extract text and images.
For specifics, many people here are more qualified than I am to tell you things in details, but you also have to ask for specific details if you need help, since we can't explain all from A to Z at once...

As I said, start by editing overlay files with "AAI Script Studio".
This tool is very user firendly and self explanatory.
